Job Title: Legal & Compliance Officer
As part of Cadware’s Legal & Compliance function, you will contribute to live legal and compliance activities across areas including regulatory research, data protection, contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property and policy development.
This opportunity forms part of the Cadware Talent Accelerator Program (CTAP) and is designed for emerging legal professionals looking to apply their legal knowledge within a real technology environment while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.

Position Type: Volunteer Part-Time
Location: Remote.
Working Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
- Legal & Regulatory Research – Research relevant UK legislation, regulatory requirements and industry practices to support legal and compliance activities.
- Policies & Governance – Assist with drafting, reviewing and maintaining policies, procedures and governance documentation.
- Data Protection & Privacy – Support UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and wider privacy compliance initiatives.
- Contracts & Legal Documentation – Assist with contract reviews, commercial agreements and other legal documentation.
- Intellectual Property – Support matters relating to copyright, trade marks, confidentiality and associated documentation.
- Risk & Compliance – Contribute to legal risk assessments, compliance monitoring and maintenance of compliance records.
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Work with product, operations, HR and technical teams on legal and compliance matters.
- Law student, LLB/LLM graduate, LPC/SQE candidate, aspiring solicitor, early-career legal professional, or someone with a strong interest in legal compliance.
- Strong legal research and drafting skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a remote environment.
- Professional approach, sound judgement and willingness to learn.
- Interest in technology, data protection, intellectual property, corporate governance or commercial law.
- Familiarity with UK GDPR, commercial contracts, intellectual property or compliance work is desirable but not essential.
- Live Legal Experience – Contribute to real legal and compliance activities within a technology business.
- Broader Legal Exposure – Gain practical exposure across data protection, commercial law, corporate governance, intellectual property and compliance.
- Cross-functional Experience – Work alongside product, technology, business and operations teams and see how legal considerations influence organisational decisions.
